NEW LOOK ON LOOKBOOK

Plenty to see...

Today I met a real vintage-lover...
I met this amazing young lady in the tube, we (Emily and myself) were on our way to
the British museum and speaking to someone who is so passionate about vintage sure was a great start to my day.

Stopped for a picture at The Brunswick.

The British Museum.
It was so packed but great to see.

We stopped for a picture after ducking from the pigeons

Next stop...

Then to M&M's to see four floors of sweets and all things M&M...

Young and old...everyone wants a piece of M&M's

We finished our day off at the National History Museum ice-rink.

NEW LOOK ON LOOKBOOK
I took this pic a while ago (at home, in SA)...It feels like I should be wearing these clothes at this time of month because its summer in SA. But I'm getting used to London's cold weather. HAPPY BLOGGING...SEE YOU SOON :)
NEW LOOK ON LOOKBOOK
''Pooshka'' (Onthatile Ramarumo) a very good friend of mine took this pic of me a while ago. It just brings back a flood of funny memories. This was on a mundane Sunday back to hostel for me, however, with her around everything turned brighter and much livelier. I truly miss her... HAPPY BLOGGING...SEE YOU SOON

''Love your shoes, in fact I love your look'' I said.

Saw her look, and I just loved it!
I met Debby at a shoe store near Leicester Square. I love her look (please mind the poor quality of the pic, I didnt have my camera on me) She wore a beige blazer, beige and black scarf, checked shorts, opaque tights and awesome brogues which were in the form of ankle boots.  PLUS she had the best personality and a killer accent from Belfast (Ireland) just to top it off!! :)

NEW LOOK ON LOOKBOOK
I tried this dress on when I was helping a friend find a dress. Its not something I'd go for, but she insisted I try it on and hence I named the look (on lookbook) ''Slight Misinterpretation''. HAPPY BLOGGING. SEE YOU SOON

Today I wore my favourite colours...beige, tan and blue... The weather was ghastly so I felt I needed to stay away from dark colours. HAPPY BLOGGING, SEE YOU SOON :)

DOWN OXFORD STREET
Today I wore a navy blue peter-pan collar jacket, brown and beige stripes jersey, beige fedora and tan boots and held a purple bag, for some edge to my look. So as we (me and my new roommate, Bindu) walked passed Harrods two girls came up to interview me. They asked me what I love about London and about the variety of fashion influences. I was super amped... I had to introduce them to Vintage Spillage! A great day it was indeed. HAPPY BLOGGING...SEE YOU SOON :)

NEW LOOK ON LOOKBOOK
Whenever I wear these pants I feel somewhat satisfied beyond control lol! I just love the fit and design. These brogues bring back a lot of happy memories..I bought them for my Matric Dance/Prom. The ruffle top adds a bit of life to what could otherwise be a mundane look. Happy Blogging...See you soon
NEW LOOK ON LOOKBOOK
I love this dress, its something I'd never usually go for because it bursts with colour. However, its always feels great wearing it because it puts me out of my comfort zone. Happy Blogging...See you soon :)

NEW LOOK ON LOOKBOOK
More on the art I've seen in and around London coming soon. Happy Blogging :)

WHAT I'M LOVING RIGHT NOW...

LOOKING FEMININE...

My cousin (Deborah Radebe) looks gorgeous in her taupe pencil skirt
and off-white blouse. I love how this look encapsulates every facet
of femininity...*10 points*

NOT BEING LAZY TO TRY THEM ON BEFORE BUYING...

I'm gradually enjoying ''waisting time''...This is what I used to call it before I tried it. Trying on
clothes was never something I enjoyed, this was until I realised the importance of getting the right fit...This means no
more alterations from now on :)

THE ''ROUND-FRAME'' SHADES...

Lebo looks amazing in hers. Now all I'm waiting for is a call from my dad to tell me ''I told you so''.
He has had a pair of round-frame shades for as long as I can remember and I was never a fan until now.
LOVE THEM

COMFORTABLE SHOES...

With so much walking being done in London, I'm opting more for comfortable shoes lately.
I love the brogues from Russel and Bromely (especially the leopard-print pair) as well as these ''Earth-mama'' sneakers
(as I'd like to call them) from ecco.

WHEN SIMPLICITY WAS KEY....

Past zeitgeist clothes will forever be classic because mass-production was
alien...
This was my first time at ''All saints''. Seeing these Singer sewing-machines made
me feel nostalgic because my granny has one. Seeing sooo many of them was mind-boggling.

''A little goes a long way''. This dress has no gimmicks, its cut is simple, yet very elegant.
love it *10 points*

I simply love the ''no-gimmicks'' approach to these two looks.
The A-line dress works perfectly with the belt and the hat adds
more elegance to this suit.

Checked, checked,checked....LOVE IT

SIMPLICITY=ELEGANCE

This A-line, lace wedding dress just puts a smile on my face. Its SIMPLY SUBLIMINAL

 The 60's....

What I love about the 60's is how expressive everyone was. It was a time of LOVE*PEACE*HAPPINESS .
No-one held back on being colourful...yet some looks retained that ''no-gimmicks'' approach which I absolutely love.
It made clothes classic and I believe it's because of this ''no-gimmicks'' approach that clothes of past eras keep making a come back

YES TO SIMPLICITY!! :)

NEW LOOK ON LOOKBOOK Just had to try out one of Lerato's creative designs. Amazing how she mixes cultural with western elements. She also adds a funky twist to the tu-tu which was the main reason I felt I had to try it on. Its a cool juxtaposition.

BEHIND THE HANGER

Last weekend my friend and I headed down Brompton Road to feast our eyes on amazing creations
in stores such us as HOBBS, HAWES & CURTIS and HARRODS
and these were my favourite pieces...
The detail and immaculate finish of this sequin dress is
awesome...its indeed a show-stopper

The lace and and velvet detail on this blouse adds some edge to its otherwise
elegantly cut structure.

(The back)

Opulence at its best!
I love the pattern on this (Gucci) dress and its complimentary colours give it the
perfect finish.

Gucci has plenty of bow-tie detail this season. This gorgeous number would look stunning
with black or taupe heels, it's timeless

This (Gucci) blouse boasts with frills and a bow-tie, it would look amazing paired with
a  black high-waisted skirt/slacks.

(Close up of the frills and bow-tie detail)

This (Gucci) dress was my PICK OF THE DAY...I love the elegance it pervades. The snake-skin pattern, the shape of the sleeves, colours, bow-tie and length, are a beautiful combination! It left my jaw on the floor

If I could name this breath-taking dress, I'd call it ''Graceful Glide''...it's flowiness and elegant structure
make it so feminine, yet the black gives it that punch of power. I think it best explains the modern woman.

This dress immediately put a huge smile on my face...its so simple yet very striking.
The pearls are a lovely addition to this master piece

This stunning sequin and feather dress (by Matthew Williamson) is beyond me. Such a gorgeous creation
*10 points*

(The tag says it has been the designers' choice since 1895)

This power suit, as I'd like to call it, goes perfectly with the red blouse. It gives balance between
femininity and the androgynous aspect of the jacket.

The clean structure of this play suit and its peter-pan collar make it
stand out. Its a perfect choice for a summers day outing with the girls :)

HAPPY BLOGGING! SEE YOU SOON...ANY COMMENTS OR SUGGESTIONS ARE HIGHLY APPRECIATED :)

NEW LOOK ON LOOKBOOK

Looks of the day

I got plenty of vintage inspiration and came across two gorgeous vintage vixens and
a debonair bloke...they gave me more reason why ''in with the old and out with the new'' is always
BEST

This lovely lady, caught my eye, she elegantly makes a bold statement with her
mustard top and matching tights. The grey skirt and ankle boots perfectly completed her look as the cherry
on top...LOVE IT!

(Second snap with the vintage vixen)

Another gorgeous vintage vixen who caught my eye was clad in a stunning tartan top
and high-waisted pencil skirt. Her ankle boots were simply subliminal and her scarf added some edge to her look... *10 points*

(Second snap with the vintage vixen)

When I saw those brogues, tartan scarf, blood-red corduroys, poor-boy cap and that navy blazer I just felt transported to a zeitgeist that I truly love. This debonair bloke was my last candidate of the day, and asking for a pic was worth while :)

(Second snap with the debonair bloke)

This vintage car was the ultimate cherry on top!

This day was really over-flowing with vintageness and I will have a blog-post on all of that soon...HAPPY BLOGGING. SEE YOU SOON :)
